Vietnam's CRAZY Bamboo Bridge
You'll run into some wild forms of infrastructure while riding a motorbike across Vietnam. I use Tigit Motorbikes' Google map entries of routes across Vietnam. This entry intrigued me enough to take a slight detour and see what it was about.
www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?mid=1P2bMKSZC_QYynHwhQhXOK3EuqLFEeAjC&ll=12.463405369396254%2C108.70598178704294&z=8
There's the link to the routes Tigit has put together for the best and most beautiful path across the country. Check it out.
The bridge is only a couple of minutes across but was quite nerve-racking and stressful. Especially with oncoming traffic. To cross and come back cost 20,000 VND.

$3.50 Hotel Room in Dalat and Motorbike Trip Through The Clouds - Journey to Nha Trang, Vietnam
Просмотров 2715 месяцев назад
Hanging out in Dalat at our $ 3.50-a-night hotel/guesthouse. This place was called the Dalat Inn Guesthouse/Homestay I believe. Found it on Booking dot com and was really happy overall. You can definitely get better rooms for not much more money but we had to give it a try. 3 nights cost me less than $11 and we were happy with the accommodation. The mountain passage between Dalat and Nha Trang ...

Wandering Through A Isaan Festival In Khon Kaen, Thailand - งานใหม

Kai had to renew her driver's license so after she was finished we visited an Isaan Winter Festival not far from the government buildings called งานใหม. Khon Kaen, Thailand has a population of around 200,000. Lots to see and do. Plenty of food, clothes, and nick-nacks to buy. We visited during the morning but seemed busier as the day progressed. The festival runs until December 10th so if you'r...

Ghost Ship Of Koh Chang, Thailand? What Is This Place?

Kai and I visit the famous Ghost Ship of Koh Chang. Pretty interesting site if you have the time and extra Baht to spare. Just put Ghost Ship in your gps and Google knows where to take you. 100 Baht entry fee per person and there's also a pretty cool waterfall to explore if it's been raining. Seems that it was a failed project that never really got off the ground but I could be mistaken.

At least 95% of expats in LOS are hardcore alcoholics. In fact, for many expats the expense of their binge drinking is #1 when figuring a budget for living in LOS. Anger, bitterness and remorse are qualities shared by most drunks.

I called their support line on the back of the inverter and they said if you connect the battery cables directly to your car battery but if you use your cigarette lighter you'll only get 100 W and then it'll blow the fuse for your cigarette lighter on your car. If you go over that. I did some research and found out that if you use a marine battery and connect the inverter directly to the marine battery you'll get the 400 W continuous maximum power without causing damage to your car or draining down your car battery which will happen. As an experiment I bought a lawn mower battery to connect it to since it was cheaper to see what happens when I use it and what kind of devices I can hook up

The audacity of going to another country and acting all superior than the locals. I feel foreigners in Thailand are mostly like that, the Westerners. And I noticed that Westerners in Vietnam or Cambodia are more friendly, I think it depends on the type of tourists that flock to these places

Further along, about 5 Kms away, is Bang Bao and Klong Koi, the last village and beach on that side of the island. Beautiful places.

I'm an American and have been going to Thailand since 1999 including a stretch of living there full time for three years. When I go back now, I stay in my wife's small village in Udon Thani Province. I met an old Aussie there who thinks to this day that we are the only two farangs within a motorbike ride. Even though I'm an old codger, I still get out and make my way around the area which has resulted in me running into many farangs, some are even nice guys. My wife told me the Aussie's wife doesn't want him meeting other farangs because she's hiding a serious gambling addiction and doesn't want him finding out from other farangs. She trusts me because I'm an extremely friendly bloke, not a whinging old British/Aussie bastard who constantly drops loud f-bombs over the price of a Leo while looking down on all the brown people. By the way, I'm mainly talking about the Pattaya scene with the complainers. In the boonies I don't even look for places to drink in public. I drink at home with friends and family. ;-)
